London-based Hyperlayer has raised £19.5 million in a Series A2 round led by existing shareholder Flintlock Capital, at a £195 million post-money valuation, a small premium to the £30 million round it closed a year ago. Mouro Capital and Susquehanna participated with other existing and new investors.
Founded in 2023 by former senior Morgan Stanley executives Rob Rooney, now CEO, and Paul Rolles, Hyperlayer sells programmable banking technology that lets established banks, credit unions and wealth managers launch accounts, rewards and products without replacing their core systems. It also runs the consumer digital wallet Hyperjar.
Rooney said the company went from a standing start to mandates with global Tier 1 banks in three years. The money goes to product, engineering and implementation teams and to expansion in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Joe Shamess, co-founder and general partner at Flintlock Capital, joins the board.
