New York-based Mural has closed a $15 million Series A led by Tether, with participation from North Island Ventures and existing investors, bringing total funding to $28 million, for global expansion and regulatory and payments infrastructure.
Founded in 2022 by former Palantir engineers Sinclair Toffa, now CEO, and Chris Fernandes, Mural runs accounts, payments, identity and compliance for fintechs and platforms building financial products, handling the licences, bank relationships and local and blockchain rails behind them. Customers including Deel, Opera and Axexo use it for payroll and remittance workflows, letting end users hold dollars, stablecoins and local currency in one account, with a policy engine that governs both people and the agents acting for them.
Since launching its API in 2025, Mural has processed $2.1 billion in payment volume for users in 128 countries; 2026 volume to date is nearly six times all of 2025.
