Trustly receives more than $40M in equity commitments from Nordic Capital and Alfvén & Didrikson

Trustly has received signed equity commitment letters of more than $40 million from its main shareholder Nordic Capital and from Alfvén & Didrikson. The capital raise is expected to conclude in November 2026, and other existing shareholders will be offered the chance to participate.
Founded in 2008 in Stockholm, Trustly lets consumers pay directly from their bank account, without a card, through open banking rails. It is supervised by Sweden's Finansinspektionen, counts BlackRock among its investors and has raised more than $400 million to date.
The commitment comes weeks after Trustly cut around 200 jobs, about a quarter of its headcount, following a revenue decline of more than $50 million last year. Group CEO Johan Tjärnberg said the money will fund new AI-driven products.
