Stablecoin payments infrastructure provider Noah has obtained a Markets in Crypto-Assets crypto-asset service provider licence and a PSD2 payment institution licence, allowing it to offer regulated digital asset services alongside fiat payments in all 27 EU member states.
Noah can now custody, exchange and transfer stablecoins for clients and process fiat credit transfers, and is positioned to seek direct access to SEPA. The payment institution licence took about a month and the CASP licence about two.
The approvals extend Noah's network to more than 150 markets and 60 currencies, alongside its US money transmitter licences and its payment service provider registration in Canada. The company now holds more than 40 licences, registrations and approvals.
The licences follow the $16 million seed extension announced on 7 October, which took Noah's seed funding to $38 million, part of it earmarked for regulatory expansion.
