Hong Kong-based FundPark has secured up to $250 million of financing from Bain Capital to strengthen the institutional funding behind its lending platform for small and medium-sized e-commerce businesses. The deal was announced as FundPark passed $10 billion in cumulative financing lent to digital entrepreneurs.
Founded in Hong Kong in 2016 and led by CEO and co-founder Anson Suen, FundPark uses data and its own risk platform to give online sellers working capital for inventory, marketing, fulfilment and expansion.
Businesses on the platform have generated more than $18 billion in gross merchandise value, and FundPark has supported more than 40,000 online shops across Asia and beyond. In 2024 it doubled an asset-backed facility arranged by Goldman Sachs to up to $500 million.
Bain Capital partners Michael Hui and Andrew Schantz described the deal as tailored, flexible capital for a local fintech lender.
The read: private credit, not venture equity, is now the main fuel for Asia's revenue-based e-commerce lenders.
