Octane has executed a $1.4 billion forward-flow facility, the largest in its history. New York Life Investment Management was loan arranger and lead investor, alongside MetLife Investment Management, Equitable, Pacific Life and Victory Park Capital, with AB CarVal advising Equitable. The partners will purchase up to $1.4 billion of fixed-rate instalment loans for powersports and outdoor power equipment originated by Octane's in-house lender, Roadrunner Financial, and serviced by Roadrunner Account Services.
Octane is a New York fintech that embeds financing into the purchase of powersports vehicles, RVs, boats, outdoor power equipment and, since this year, autos, working through dealers and brands under Captive-as-a-Service partnerships.
It is the company's third forward-flow deal with life insurers, after a $700 million facility in April 2025. Octane has now sold or committed more than $6.3 billion of consumer loans through forward-flow and whole-loan programmes, including about $3.4 billion in 2026, and has issued more than $5 billion of asset-backed notes. Originations grew 37% year on year in the first half of 2026 and passed $9 billion all-time.
The read: life insurers are becoming the balance sheet behind consumer fintech lenders.
