What is new: Moniepoint UK Limited, the UK subsidiary of Nigerian fintech unicorn Moniepoint, reported $36,284 in revenue for 2025 in filings with UK regulators, reflecting one month of activity after MonieWorld customers were migrated to it in December.
The entity recorded $10,220 in gross profit and a $226,172 loss after tax, with total assets of $769,703.
Moniepoint built its UK presence by acquiring Bancom Europe, an FCA-authorised electronic money institution, in July 2025, depositing $2.51 million as equity, and renamed it Moniepoint UK in September. MonieWorld previously relied on Railsr's PayrNet for the UK leg of its remittances.
MonieWorld launched in April 2025 to compete in the £2.76 billion UK-Nigeria remittance market against providers such as LemFi and Sendwave. Less than 18 months later, Moniepoint said it would discontinue the product after a portfolio review, despite 70% monthly growth in transaction volumes.
