New York-based Fission has raised a $10 million Series A led by Pantera Capital, with Circle Ventures, New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Borderless Capital and GTS CEO Ari Rubenstein participating. The round closed in September; the valuation was not disclosed. It follows a $1.6 million pre-seed in 2024.

Founded in 2024 by CEO Jonathan Shaffer, formerly an investor at Point72, and CRO Steve Bendit, Fission works on the exit side of tokenisation. Fund shares now live on blockchains, but investors can still wait months for a redemption. Fission acts as the buyer: an investor connects a wallet, submits a sale and settles in about 90 seconds, for a fee, instead of waiting roughly 200 days.

Customers are institutional: hedge funds holding tokenised private credit or equity, crypto treasuries and stablecoin issuers. Pantera general partner Franklin Bi said almost nobody is working on the post-tokenisation problem.
