Finmid has raised a €17 million Series A extension led by Athens-based Big Pi Ventures and London-based Mainset, with existing investor Earlybird following on. Total funding is now €52 million; other backers include Blossom Capital and N26 co-founder Max Tayenthal.

Founded in Berlin in 2021 by former N26 executives Alex Talkanitsa and Max Schertel, Finmid provides white-label embedded lending for platforms, which offer financing to their business customers without becoming a bank. Existing partners include Wolt and Delivery Hero.

Alongside the round, Finmid signed a multi-year deal with Bolt that gives the ride-hailing company's fleet operators up to €400,000 over four years to finance vehicles, and a merchant lending agreement with Greek marketplace Skroutz. The capital funds asset-finance products, underwriting infrastructure and expansion into mobility and e-commerce.

The read: embedded lending started with restaurant cash advances; the same rails now carry multi-year vehicle loans.
