Causa Prima has raised a $20 million seed round led by Base10 Partners, with QED Investors and FJ Labs joining existing investors Creandum, Kfund and Borusan Ventures. It comes three months after a $10 million pre-seed led by Creandum and takes total funding to $30 million.

Based in Munich and Madrid, the company was founded by CEO Maex Ament, Henrik Gebbing and Philip Stanislaus. Ament previously co-founded Taulia, the dynamic discounting company SAP acquired in 2022.

Causa Prima runs a shared network where AI agents acting for buyers and suppliers handle invoice approvals, disputed invoices and payment-term negotiations directly, and surface early-payment discounts that manual processes miss.

The read: B2B finance automation is moving from one company's payables or receivables team to the space between two companies.
