Capitolis has agreed to acquire eSecLending for $200 million in an all-cash deal, buying it from Parthenon Capital and eSecLending's management team. Parthenon Capital will also invest in Capitolis. eSecLending (Europe) Limited is not part of the transaction.

Founded by CEO Gil Mandelzis, Capitolis is a fintech unicorn building financial resource optimisation technology for global and regional banks and institutional investors. It has raised about $300 million to date, and this is its fourth acquisition in five years.

In business for 26 years, eSecLending is an independent securities lending firm that works with pension funds, insurers and asset managers, lending their securities to major global banks. The two companies were already partnering on products before the deal.

The combined offering spans securities lending, repo and financing markets.
