Birbank opens a redesigned Ganja branch built around a digital corner

Birbank, part of Azerbaijan's Bir ecosystem, has opened a redesigned Kapital Bank-Birbank branch in Ganja, the country's second-largest city. At its centre is a digital corner where staff show customers how to use the Birbank app, cashless payments and transfers through the m10 wallet, and other digital tools, alongside traditional banking.
The target is cash. According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the value of cashless card payments grew 26% in 2025, but only 20% of transactions on cards issued for pensions and government benefits were cashless.
Bir brings together banking, payments and e-commerce and serves more than 5 million users, close to half the population. It also runs over 6,000 MilliÖn terminals for cash payments and top-ups. Farid Huseynov is CEO of Bir and Kapital Bank.
The format adds to Birbank's sign-language support, available in the app and at selected branches.
