Behavox has acquired Apiax, the Zurich-based provider of embedded compliance software that turns financial regulation into machine-readable rules applied inside firms' own systems. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Behavox runs an AI-native controls platform for global banks, asset managers, hedge funds and commodity firms. With Apiax it now covers the chain on one platform: Pathfinder identifies regulatory change, Apiax converts it into rules at the point of business, and Behavox's surveillance and archive products monitor and evidence the resulting decisions.
Apiax brings engineering and regulatory teams in Switzerland, Germany, Portugal and the UK, and its customers keep their current product and support. The deal follows a $175 million preferred equity investment from HPS Investment Partners, part of BlackRock, in June and a new Milan office in August.
Apiax co-founder and CEO Philip Schoch said joining Behavox gives the technology the distribution to reach far more institutions.
