The rise of the agentic coworker: A banking CIO's guide to the next wave of AI
By McKinsey & Company ·
McKinsey argues that banks are moving from AI copilots to agentic coworkers that run whole workflows, and sets out five foundations for managing them: risk-tiered controls, a governed identity and named owner for each agent, oversight designed by risk level, bank-owned context, and a common AI gateway. At one North American bank, an architecture review coworker cut manual effort by 40 to 50 percent and approval cycles by 25 percent.
