London-based Nous has raised $17 million from Heartcore Capital and existing seed backer Mosaic Ventures, with Chalfen Ventures, Joyance Partners and Bain Future Back Ventures also investing. Angels include Tom Blomfield, co-founder of Monzo and GoCardless, and Brent Hoberman of Founders Factory.

Founded in 2021 by Greg Marsh, co-founder of onefinestay, Nous builds an AI agent that acts for households instead of only advising them: it moves people to cheaper car insurance, energy, broadband and mobile deals, cancels subscriptions and fills in forms. It raised a $9 million seed round in 2022 and is registered with the FCA, which lets it handle regulated products such as insurance.

Nous says almost 250,000 UK homes use it, that it manages more than £685 million of annual household spending and that a typical household saves £734 on bills. These figures are company-reported. The money goes to more spending categories, wider insurance and financial services, and other countries.
