Italian VC Nevermind (NVM) has launched with a €23.6 million first close for NVM Venture Lazio, against a €35 million target. Lazio Innova committed €18.83 million through Lazio Venture 2, the region's fund of funds co-financed by the ERDF programme.
The fund will build a portfolio of 10 to 15 pre-seed and seed companies with dual-use applications, acting mainly as lead investor: aerospace, maritime, robotics and autonomous systems, cybersecurity, AI for defence, energy infrastructure, new materials, advanced manufacturing and biotech.
NVM uses a multi-compartment model, pairing each thesis with a specialist team under shared governance. Founding partners Andrea Bonabello and Niccolò Bienati lead the firm; Giorgio Gulienetti and Alessandro Casiraghi manage the Lazio compartment. The region hosts Italy's full aerospace value chain, with more than 300 advanced-technology companies.
