Monaco-based Monte Carlo Capital has announced a €13 million ($15 million) first close of its second fund, against a €26 million target. Most Fund I limited partners recommitted, and Fund II has already made five investments. Fund I closed at more than €11 million in 2025.

Founded in 2009 by managing partner Ian Sosso, a former angel investor who led more than 50 syndicates, the firm pairs a lean fund with co-investment SPVs to keep backing its best companies as they scale. Fund II invests mainly at seed, and selectively at pre-seed and Series A, in deep tech, AI, space tech and enterprise software.

Sosso said the firm only invests where it sees a credible path to a multi-billion-dollar outcome, getting onto early cap tables alongside leading VCs.
