An investor group led by The Lifetime Value Company, LTVCo, has acquired Kipp, a platform that recovers card transactions declined for insufficient funds. The group includes LTVCo and its founders. Terms were not disclosed.
Kipp works as a real-time decisioning layer between card issuers and merchants and is not a payment processor. When an issuer is about to decline an insufficient-funds transaction, Kipp checks whether the merchant will pay a predefined premium for approval. Issuers set eligibility, segments and pricing, consumers pay no extra fee and merchants need no technical integration. Kipp reports save rates of 20% to 50%, depending on the merchant.
Kipp keeps operating independently under co-founders Chanan Lavi, CEO, and Nir Levy, CTO. LTVCo, which runs BeenVerified, Bumper and Ownerly, will fund technology, network expansion and US growth.
