Bancomat, Italy's domestic payment circuit, has announced that Hercle is joining Eur.Bank, its euro-denominated stablecoin project.

Bancomat, Italy's domestic payment circuit, has announced that Hercle is joining Eur.Bank, its euro-denominated stablecoin project. Hercle, a provider of treasury infrastructure and cross-border stablecoin payments, is the first Italian fintech to enter the ecosystem. It will supply connectivity for liquidity management, multi-currency conversion and links between banking systems and blockchain infrastructure, to extend the stablecoin beyond Europe once the authorisation process is complete.
Eur.Bank has already involved nine banking institutions in an issuance pilot, and participants can use the full solution or single components. Hercle is an authorised CASP and EMI.
Fabrizio Burlando, CEO of Bancomat, said the entry strengthens the infrastructure behind the project ahead of its commercial launch. Gabriele Sabbatini, CEO and co-founder of Hercle, said it lets institutions improve transnational payments and reach multi-currency stablecoin liquidity without compromising compliance.
