The British Business Bank is committing £2M to South East Angels through its Regional Angels Programme. The money will be co-invested with members' funds in founders across the South East and the wider UK. Haatch operates the investment platform.
Kristina Pereckaite founded the group in late 2020 with five members, after four years leading a Brighton startup accelerator. It now has more than 100 members, who have invested over £7M in 48 startups, with tickets from £50K to £350K. Portfolio companies include Blue Skies Space and EarSwitch, and the group had its first exit when Glidewell Dental bought ORB.
The Regional Angels Programme launched in 2019 to back early-stage investors outside London. It has £285M and usually commits £5M to £15M per partner.
The read: London took 57% of UK equity investment by value in 2025, according to the bank's own tracker. This is a small ticket aimed at that gap.
