Bold secures a COP 37.45B (about $11.3M) loan from BBVA Spark to expand lending to Colombian merchants

Colombian payments fintech Bold has secured a bilateral loan of COP 37,450 million, about $11.3 million, from BBVA Spark. The financing will widen the credit Bold can extend to micro, small and medium businesses in Colombia.

Bold has connected more than 700,000 merchants across Colombia and Peru to its payments products, with card and QR volume of about COP 20 trillion a year. It raised a $50 million Series C led by General Atlantic, with IFC participating, earlier in its history.

Cuatrecasas advised Bold and PPU advised BBVA Spark on the transaction.
