ACI Worldwide and Circle have announced a collaboration to show how USDC settlement can be built into existing banking and payment infrastructure, starting with a pilot in Colombia. It runs on ACI Connetic, ACI's cloud-native payments orchestration platform, and Circle's USDC infrastructure.
Colombia is the starting point because ACI built the central infrastructure behind Bre-B, the country's interoperable instant payments system. The companies say stablecoins such as USDC can complement Bre-B and give financial institutions a multi-rail setup, with traditional payment types, digital assets and cards on one platform.
The goal is practical: let institutions test stablecoin settlement within the operating models, treasury processes and governance they already use. Circle's chief commercial officer Kash Razzaghi said Latin American institutions are looking at how stablecoins fit established payment environments. The release gives no commercial terms.
