News from the market

Welcome to the first edition of this weekly newsletter. The idea behind this activity is to gather all the information in the startup ecosystem in one place, with a special focus on the fintech market.

Furthermore, I wanted to give the opportunities to startups in fundraising to have more visibility, so you will also find a list of startups currently raising funds. And if you are a startup and want to be present here, feel free to contact me directly.

So, without further ado, here it is a short recap of this week in the ecosystem:

[Monzo](https://monzo.com/) is trying to raise £300 millions to back is expansion in the UK and Europe, while, Lunar denied any possibility for a merge with the popolar UK based digital bank.

Twinco Capital just raised debt facility of $50 millions from one of the main Spanish banks, BBVA, for his expansion in Europe.

Zilch proved that the BNPL trend is not over yet by closing a deal with Ebay that just evaluated the fintech startup more than $1.65 billions.

2100 Ventures just launched his first fund, taking in more than $30 millions from investors across Italy, including big names like Alessandro Benetton, heir of the United Colors of Benetton company. The fund, is looking to invest in B2B SaaS startup with a strong Italian soul.

And it's not the only one pushing for the Italian ecosystem. Generali just launched Generali Ventures, a $250 millions investment fund focused on Italian founders across the country.

After the flash crash from Worldline last week, we saw another crash in the digital payment industry, and this time was Cab payments shocking the market with a strong -83% ytd.

The Latin American fintech market is more interesting than ever, with QI Tech raising more than $200 millions from General Atlantic.

And in the MENA region, Tabby just raised $200 millions at a $1.5 billions valuation from various investors, lead by Wellington Management.

Atom bank in UK was able to raise £100 millions, even if they had to slash the valuation from £435 millions to £362 millions.

Revolut is always taking the spot on the headlines, but this time for a good reason. They just appointed a new chief of the banking division, the Italian executive Francesca Carlesi, formerly ceo of Molo.

Finally, Wefox just raised $55 millions from two of the main bank in the European landscape, UniCredit and Deutsche Bank.

And many other news from Plaid, Adyen, Mollie, EarlyBird and other fintech companies.

  • Tutornow - Edtech that provides an online tutoring platform for students with learning disorders. Raising $500k to $1M.
