Disruptive has announced the Disruptive Flagship Fund, a $10 billion vehicle that plans to invest up to $1 billion each in about 10 growth and late-stage private technology companies. The Dallas firm says it secured capital commitments from its existing LP base; interests are offered only to accredited investors, and the release does not state a close.
Disruptive was founded in 2012 by Alex Davis, its founder and CEO. This is its first blind pool: until now it raised money one deal at a time through special purpose vehicles. Its stated focus is AI, AI infrastructure, defense technology and enterprise software, through primary, secondary and structured deals.
Bloomberg reports that Disruptive has returned about $6 billion on roughly $1.9 billion invested. Davis said the best private technology companies are growing larger, staying private longer and needing more capital.
