BOB AI Holdings Corp., the Miami company behind BOB, has raised $5.5 million in seed funding led by Mischief, the firm founded by Plaid co-founder Zak Perret. Peter Thiel invested, and Codie Sanchez, Mark Pincus and Karman Ventures participated.

BOB is an AI finance employee and banking platform for small businesses. It handles bookkeeping, invoicing, payments and cash flow through channels owners already use, including WhatsApp, text, Slack and Microsoft Teams, and the company offers the agent free. BOB says it is a financial technology company, not a bank.

CEO Adam Wininger said small business owners have been an afterthought for most financial technology built over the last decade. The money goes to product, the Miami team and reaching more owners.
