Begin Capital has launched Fund II, a $100 million fund backing early-stage deep tech founders, with a focus on AI infrastructure, hardware and silicon, and physical AI. It invests globally, with an emphasis on European technical talent. Cheques run from $500,000 to $8 million, from pre-seed to Series A.
The London firm has made nine investments from the fund so far, including All3, SurrealDB, Crewline, xmemory and Zencoder. Three founders from its first fund joined as venture partners: Flaviu Radulescu of Runware, Elias Schneider of Codesphere and Dan Lifshits of Dwelly. Several founders have also invested as LPs.
Fund I launched in 2020 as a generalist vehicle and made 28 investments, including Runware, Fundraise Up, Native Teams, Codesphere and Dwelly. Begin has not disclosed that fund's size.
